Privacy policy

Elizabeth Wiltshire Jewellery (ABN 43 218 081 211) is just me, Liz, based on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. I only collect the details I need to make and send your jewellery, answer your questions and, if you've signed up, email you about new pieces.

I never sell your details to anyone, and I handle them in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

• When you order: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and what you ordered.
• When you enquire or message me: whatever you choose to share, like ring sizes, important dates, your budget and any photos you upload.
• When you join my email list: your email address, and your name if you give it.
• When you browse the site: basic information such as the pages you view, your device and your browser, collected through cookies.

Payments are handled by the checkout and its payment providers. I never see or store your full card details.

If you give me someone else's details, like a gift recipient's address or ring size, please make sure they'd be happy for you to share them.

• To make, send and look after your order or commission.
• To reply to your questions and enquiries.
• To send you emails about new pieces and studio news, if you've signed up.
• To understand how people use the site so I can make it better.
• To meet my legal and tax obligations.

I don't use your information to make automated decisions about you. Afterpay and Zip make their own approval decisions, under their own privacy policies.

Only the services that help me run the business, and only what they need to do their part:

• Shopify, which runs my online store and checkout.
• Payment providers, including card processors, Afterpay, Zip and my payment plan provider.
• Australia Post and other couriers, so your parcel can reach you.
• Klaviyo, which sends my emails and shows me how they're read.
• An image hosting service, which stores photos you upload with an enquiry.
• Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which help me understand how the site is used and show my ads to people who might like my work.

Some of these services store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Canada, and sometimes in other countries where they run their servers. I may also need to share information if the law requires it.

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. My site uses them to keep your cart working, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Cookies and similar tools from Google, Meta and Klaviyo also measure visits and help show you relevant ads and emails.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not work as well.

You'll only get marketing emails if you've signed up for them. Every one has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can use it any time.

I'll still email you about an order or enquiry you've made, because those are part of looking after you.

I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and I use well established services to store it. No online system is perfectly secure, so I can't promise absolute security. If there's ever a data breach that's likely to cause you serious harm, I'll tell you as soon as I can.

I keep your details for as long as I need them to look after your order, honour your warranty and keep the records the law asks of me. Tax records are generally kept for five years.

You can ask to see the details I hold about you, have them corrected or ask me to delete them. Email hello@elizabethwiltshirejewellery.com or call 0434 774 184 and I'll get back to you within 30 days.

Sometimes I'll need to keep certain records, like tax invoices, and I'll let you know if that's the case.

I'm based in Australia, and your information is handled here under Australian law. I don't specifically market to the UK or Europe, but I'm happy to send pieces there.

Wherever you live, I use your details to fulfil your order, to send marketing emails only with your consent, and to run and improve my shop. If you're in the UK or the EU, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your details, object to marketing at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first and I'll do my best to put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

I may update this policy from time to time, and the latest version will always be on this page.
